Terms of Service

Typerite is built for people who write every day. These Terms are our agreement with you—straightforward, without legal noise.

By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Typerite. If you are under 18, you must have your parent or guardian's permission. By using Typerite, you confirm you meet these requirements.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping access to your account secure. Don't share your password.

Your content

You own the writing you create in Typerite. Your entries are end-to-end encrypted — we store only ciphertext and cannot read your writing. You give us permission to store this encrypted data only as needed to run the app (saving, syncing, exporting).

Acceptable use

• Don’t try to break the app or access other users’ data.
• Don’t abuse our services (spam, scraping, attacking).

Paid membership

Typerite offers an Annual Practice subscription at $24.99 per year (or local equivalent). Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your Account Settings on the App Store.

Refunds

Refunds for subscriptions are handled by Apple. If you believe you're entitled to a refund, you can request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot process refunds directly.

Apple billing independence

Typerite subscriptions are processed by Apple. Apple billing operates independently of any promotional entitlements we may grant (such as the free year for completing 365 days of practice). If you earn a free year, you must cancel your Apple subscription renewal manually to avoid being charged.

Free year entitlement

If you complete 365 consecutive days of practice (meeting the daily word goal, with or without recovery days), you earn a free year of access. This entitlement is added to your account after your current subscription period ends. Apple auto-renewal must be canceled separately to avoid being charged.

License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Typerite on any Apple device you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, sublicense, modify, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app without our written permission.

Warranty disclaimer

Typerite is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Typerite is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or profits.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Dispute resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in English, seated in Hyderabad, Telangana. To the extent permitted by applicable law, you waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.

EU residents: The arbitration requirement does not apply where prohibited by applicable law. You retain the right to bring claims before competent courts in your jurisdiction.

Opt-out: You may opt out of arbitration by emailing us within 30 days of first using Typerite.

Account termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. If we terminate your account for cause, you won't receive a refund for any unused subscription period. If we discontinue Typerite entirely, we'll provide at least 30 days notice and an opportunity to export your data.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Typerite and its developer from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the app.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.

Entire agreement

These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Typerite regarding your use of the app.

Changes

We may update these Terms over time. If we make material changes, we'll post an updated date at the top of this page.

Apple

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Typerite only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Typerite or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.

Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
